Name your AI in 30 seconds.
One paste. Works in any chat app. Nothing to install.
Why a name
Most people talk to “the AI”. Once it has a name, you start to notice which chat did which job, and what the next one needs to know. That is the first rung.
Three steps
- Step 1Open a new chat in the app you use most.
- Step 2Copy the text below and paste it in.
- Step 3Answer its one question.
I'd like to give you a name, so I can tell our chats apart. 1. Suggest three short names for yourself, each a navigation instrument or a star (for example: Sextant, Polaris, Gnomon). Ask me to pick one, or to give my own. 2. Once I pick, use that name for yourself for the rest of this chat, and sign your first line with it. 3. Write one short "name card" I can save: your name, today's date, and one line on what we are working on. 4. If this app lets you save a memory or a custom instruction, tell me in one line how to save the name card there. If it does not, tell me so plainly, and tell me to paste the name card at the start of my next chat. Keep every answer short.
What happens next depends on your app
Apps differ in what they carry into a later chat, so the prompt asks your AI to tell you what yours allows. If your next chat does not know its name, paste the same text again. Nothing here changes your app's settings.
The name card is the smallest handoff there is: a name, a date, one line on the work. Everything further up the ladder is a bigger version of that card.

Paste the name card your AI wrote, or tell us the name. What people make decides what gets written next.
Rung 2: Your first agent that runs without you →
A short brief from your Gmail and Google Calendar, written at 7 am every day as a scheduled task on claude.ai. Read only, signed with the name from rung 1.

Not claimed: that any app remembers the name. The prompt has the AI say what its own app allows, and the fallback works anywhere.
