Who maintains The Continuity Layer

This is an independent reference, maintained by one person working with AI systems in production — not a vendor, not a university, not a company with a framework to sell.

That independence is the point. The field of AI continuity, memory, and long-running agents is documented mostly by the vendors building the tools and the researchers publishing the papers. Both are essential, and both are cited here. What was missing was a neutral place to organize, compare, and connect them — written from the vantage point of someone who has actually had to keep long-running systems alive, and hit the continuity problems firsthand rather than reading about them.

The Continuity Layer is maintained from the perspective of an independent practitioner working with AI systems in production. The goal is not to replace academic research or vendor documentation, but to organize, compare, and connect them into a coherent public reference.

It started from a practical problem: information in this field is fragmented, the terminology drifts from source to source, and the continuity failures are real once you’re running systems that have to persist across time. There was no single, neutral place to make sense of the landscape. So this became that place.

A reference that shows its work: disagreements surfaced instead of smoothed over, sources you can trace, and a maintainer accountable to the standards above. Hold it to them.
